As it was first known in 1962, Evans Steel Building Company, Inc. had headquarters located on north West Street in Wichita and was led by the founding team of John Evans, Harold Heinrichs and Archie Lynch. Now celebrating fifty-four successful years as a general contractor and pre-engineered metal building specialist, Evans Building Company, Inc. remains “The Team to Build With!”
While the pre-engineered building business has changed considerably over the years, Evans Building Company, Inc. continues to rely on the same principles that it was founded on: quality building systems, reliable partnerships and consistent performance.
These principles, paired with a relentless dedication to our clients’ interests and wildest imaginations, are what have established Evans Building Company, Inc. as a local leader in nonresidential building construction. Current president and owner Bill Johnson takes pride in delivering unique building solutions for commercial and retail businesses, industrial and manufacturing facilities, religious organizations and recreational complexes in the Wichita metro area.
As an authorized Varco Pruden builder, we use high quality steel structural materials - with virtually any exterior finish - to create metal buildings that are energy-efficient and provide years of trouble-free performance. Our designs are attractive with optimum functionality; considerably more than the basic metal boxes most imagine when they hear the term “metal building.”

Design-Build
With the design-build approach, we bring the builderand architect together with the client to consolidate design and construction services. Our expert in-house design team can modify existing plans to your exact specification, or create a custom design that is attractive and economical. Design-build also provides more interaction and freedom in developing architectural plans, all while eliminating surprises or costly last-minute requests.
New Construction
Metal buildings offer many benefits – including cost and energy efficiency, as well as longevity with minimal maintenance or repairs. Typically, the start-to-finish time to complete a metal building system is one third less than that of other types of construction. Often, industrial construction projects require the unique flexibility of metal building systems to design structures capable of supporting large overhead crane loads economically. Metal buildings are also available in a variety of shapes, sizes and finishes, meaning design concepts are virtually endless – and can easily accommodate special aesthetic considerations that are inherent to religious facilities, for example.

Retrofit and Re-Roof Solutions
We know it’s not always feasible or practical to buildnew, or hinder operations by removing and replacing your existing roof. Whether it is an addition, modification, or complete makeover, the Evans team can design and engineer less invasive building systems and reroofing solutions right over top your existing structure with a process called retrofitting. Retrofit metal reroofing systems provide long-term, weather-tight protection and are comparable to other shorter-term fixes, no matter whether your current roof is non-metal, flat or sloped.
